Beginnings: One cold evening I walked to my favorite small, locally owned coffee shop and roaster. I saw my barista shaking out the last of the beans in the grinder and tossing the foil-lined bag the flicker of the shiny bag caught my eye. I asked “ what do you do with those bags?” she answered “ we throw them out” , “Can I have those bags?” , sure she said.. and that was the start of my upcycling adventure. I start my day drinking coffee and end my days washing out the collected bags. -Collect bags, wrappers that are destined for the trash. -Prepping the bags -Creating the “fabric" -Visualize my product, cut it out of the fabric, hold the layers with my hands and push it thru the sewing machine. it's totally eyeballed, no use of a ruler, thus making each unique. MAdE from the following: Non- Recycled materials : thread, clear packaging tape, eyelets, zippers, velcro. Second-hand materials : thread, clear vinyl tablecloth, eyelets, zippers, velcro Non Recyclable Foil-Lined Coffee Bags! |
